Catholic Schools


We serve the communities of Edson, Slave Lake and Whitecourt. Our Division is co-terminus with three Dioceses: Archdiocese of Edmonton, Archdiocese of Grouard McLennan and the  Diocese of St. Paul. The following are details of Catholic Education in the Diocese of St. Paul.

1961– Whitecourt Roman Catholic Separate School Division established.

1962 – First form of Catholic School starts in the church basement

 – St. Joseph School opens for Grades 1-9.

1983 – St. Mary School opens for K-6 students

1995 – Whitecourt RCSSD regionalized with Westlock and Slave Lake

1998 – The amalgamation of three Catholic School Divisions - Whitecourt RCSSD + Slave Lake
            RCSSD + Sundance RCSSD = Living Waters CRD No. 42

2016 – École St. Joseph School replacement school opens (Gr 4-12)

2018 – Opening of Across the Waters Outreach 

2019 – A New Elementary School is announced for Living Waters in Whitecourt  

2022 – Living Waters CSSD (Whitecourt) - 900 students served at Ecole St. Joseph School

            (4-12) and Ecole St. Mary School (K-3)

2023 - Opening of École St. Anne School & the grade reconfiguration of existing schools - Ecole St. Anne School (K-3) Ecole St. Mary School (4-6) Ecole St. Joseph School (7-12)
